People Thriving No.4: Shanté Grosset of Her Style of Tea

"I started to learn all about healthy living, eating, self-care, and pursuing a sustainable lifestyle. I’m not perfect and I still have a long way to go but I definitely think I’m thriving in this season of my life."

Our next our next passionate Zambeezi advocate, Shanté, recently took to some time to review Zambeezi on her site herstyleoftea.com (check it out here: Your Lip Balm isn't working: the organic, beeswax lip balm you should use instead). Her passion for others, lip balm and clean beauty, captured us.

So, we reached out to talk with her about what #PeopleThriving means to her. Ready to learn more about, Shanté? We are. Let's go!

Which Zambeezi flavor is your favorite? Definitely the Honeybalm!

Which shoe do you tie first, right or left? I haven’t thought of that before, great question! Now that I think about it, I tie my right shoe first. I think it could be because I’m right-handed.

Who has inspired you most in life (living, dead, personal or historical)?  It’s hard for me to choose one person but I think I can say women throughout history who worked towards women’s rights and liberation. Strong women who have made an impact in their society and community are really inspiring to me. I hope that I too can leave my own legacy behind someday.

If you could pick a utensil in your kitchen to describe you, which would you pick? Why? Maybe kitchen scissors. They’re super handy and helpful in the kitchen but they’re not necessarily used as often as spoons or forks. When they are used though, they make a huge difference.

If animals could all of the sudden talk, which one would you want to interview first? I’d probably want to interview a bird. They always have such beautiful songs and it would be fun to know what they mean or why they sing them.

What are three books that you want all of your friends to read? First, I would recommend The Winning Attitude by John C. Maxwell. It’s a personal development book I read when I was around 13, and it really changed my life. I learned all about how your perspective on life is really what determines how you’ll react or respond to circumstances you face. I also learned how to develop a “winning attitude” despite where I was in life or what challenges I had to face. I also loved The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown. Essentially, it’s a guidebook for how to live life more fully and freely by breaking down misconceptions about who we’re supposed to be and embracing who we actually are. Finally, I’d recommend Own Your Everyday by Jordan Lee Dooley. It’s all about learning how to embrace where you are even while searching for more in life. She teaches that purpose isn’t necessarily a big, far-off thing, it could also be in how we live our day to day lives.

When you think of #peoplethriving, who is the first person that comes to mind? Well, since I just mentioned Brené Browns’ book, I think she’s a great example of #peoplethriving. She understands what it's like to live wholeheartedly and show up fully in life. Despite imperfections and challenges, she remains on her journey to invest in herself.

What does “thriving” look like in your life? Thriving looks like knowing and choosing what’s best for me in my life. It also looks like living up to my full potential. I’m really passionate about Zambeezi’s mission of #peoplethriving because I can remember a time not too long ago when I was just going through the motions of life and not thriving at all. My faith is super important to me and I believe God showed me that if I wanted to thrive spiritually, I needed to also thrive in all other aspects of my life. I started to learn all about healthy living, eating, self-care, and pursuing a sustainable lifestyle. I’m not perfect and I still have a long way to go but I definitely think I’m thriving in this season of my life.

Why do you love Zambeezi? I love Zambeezi because of the way their mission practically connects to the product they deliver. It’s not just about a product, it’s about people. Zambeezi truly helps people to thrive and live fuller lives. I love that the most.
